Surfside Rotary Road Race - 10K/5K Run & Walk

f you’re looking to test your running prowess, tune up for the Myrtle Beach Marathon, or just have a good workout at the beach, it’s time to register for the sixth annual Surfside Area Rotary 5K and 10K walk/run on Jan. 30.
 

The race begins at 10 a.m. at the Surfside Beach Pier and winds through the town’s flat streets and along the oceanfront in a loop that takes participants back to the pier for cheers, awards and food.

Participants can register online until midnight Jan. 28 through the RoadRace link at www.surfsiderotary.org. They can register in person at the Days Inn Surfside from 5-8 p.m. Jan. 29 or 8-9:30 a.m. Jan. 30. Registration for the 10K or 5K is $25 and $20 for the walk.

Proceeds are used by the civic club for a variety of charitable programs and donations including Wright Flight, a partnership with area schools in which students who improve their grades and satisfy other requirements are rewarded with a flight in a private plane.
